Collection: VM95 Series by Audio Technica

The VM95 Series dual moving magnet cartridges can be used almost forever by replacing the interchangeable stylus. It is no longer necessary to purchase a complete cartridge when your diamond is worn out, you can simply buy the matching replacement stylus, but also enjoy the experience of upgrading your cartridge with a different stylus.

Every cartridge diamond stylus becomes worn after a period of play. Around 500 hours for a conical stylus, 300 hours for an Elliptical stylus, 1000 hours for a Microlinear stylus, and 800 hours for a Shibata stylus.

The six models of VM95 Series cartridges all use the same electromagnetic engine-body, therefore each of the six replacement styli are perfectly compatible.

A hi-fi setup is the combination of components that work together to create your sound experience. This typically includes:

  • Turntable: The core of any hi-fi setup, turntables/record players.
  • Speakers: To bring the sound to life, you’ll need a pair of quality speakers that match your turntable.
  • Amplifier/Receiver: If your speakers are passive, you'll need an amplifier to power them. Some turntables come with built-in preamps, making them a convenient choice for beginners. Luckily all of our beginner turntables come with preamp built in. So you will be good to go
  • Cables: Don’t forget the cables! Good-quality cables help ensure your sound is clear and precise.

When you’re just starting out, it’s important to choose equipment that works well together and meets your needs without being overwhelming. Our beginner turntable bundle often includes everything you need to get started, including a good entry-level turntable and speakers, making it easier to dive into the world of vinyl.

Selecting the best record player with speakers for beginners can be tricky with so many options available. Here’s a quick guide to help you pick the right beginner record player:

  • Ease of Setup: Look for a good starter record player that is simple to set up and operate. Many modern turntables come pre-assembled with a built-in preamp, eliminating the need for extra equipment.
  • Sound Quality: While the price might be lower for beginner models, it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice sound. A good beginner turntable offers rich, clear sound and reliability.
  • Durability: A record player for beginners should be able to withstand frequent use without losing sound quality or performance.
  • Upgradability: Consider whether the turntable offers room for upgrades as your collection—and your audio needs—grow. The best beginner turntable options often allow for future enhancements like better cartridges or speakers.
