Wolf Alice
Blue Weekend
Blue Weekend
Description
I am sick of people saying rock is dead in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty One. To rebut them of late I point at this year's Wolf Alice album. The new release from London 4-piece is a self-assured, hard-hitting album. The dynamics, quiet loud explorations and gentle vocal layering is their best work yet. My father in law - solid gold Wolf Alice fan - says "Only a London band could make these sounds". There's a self awareness to their garage rock aesthetic, and a flexibility in how the songs are realised throughout.
Tracklist
1. The Beach
2. Delicious Things
3. Lipstick on the Glass
4. Smile
5. Safe from Heartbreak (If You Never Fall in Love)
6. How Can I Make It OK?
7. Play the Greatest Hits
8. Feeling Myself
9. The Last Man on Earth
10. No Hard Feelings
11. The Beach II
