T. Rex
Electric Warrior
Electric Warrior
Description
Glam rock was a purely Marc Bolan invention. He shed the folk, percussive styling of his previous outfit Tyrannosaurus Rex, shortened the name and saw how to capitalise on the coming need for blues fuelled pop-rock. Most of the hits live on this 1971 masterpiece - the hooks, riffs and solos demand your attention and your dancing shoes. It is also an often-ignored classic within rock history, not much that you've heard on the radio with guitars would exist without it. 'Green Day' and 'My Chemical Romance' owe as much to this album as 'Kiss' and 'Guns and Roses'.
