Lazaretto (Ultra 180 Gram)
Jack White presents his new album "Lazaretto".
"Lazaretto" inhabits an exciting place in White's expansive discography as the follow-up to 2012's "Blunderbuss".
But this is no ordinary vinyl pressing. No, this is the world's first "Ultra Vinyl" LP! "Lazaretto" is presented here as a single 180-gram LP in a single-pocket tip-on jacket (and including bonus MP3 download). Now here's where it gets interesting. This LP release features two, vinyl-only hidden tracks layered beneath the center labels, one playing at 78 RPM and the other at 45 RPM (making this a 3-speed record).
Additionally, both sides end with locked grooves, for a continuous loop, side A plays from the inside out and side B from the normal outside in, whilst side B features dual-groove technology that plays an electric or acoustic intro for 'Just One Drink' depending on where needle is dropped (the grooves meeting for the body of the song).
Visually, the dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record, and side B bares a matte finish on Side B, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record.
If that wasn't all, this LP edition features absolutely zero compression used during recording, mixing and mastering, contains a different running order from the CD/digital version amd utilizes some mixes different from those used on CD and digital version.
