Demon Days (CD)
Demon Days (CD)
The world's most successful animated band, the brain child of Damon Albarn and cartoonist Jamie Hewlett, are fully realised on their sophomore. The cuts off this album would come to dominate mid 2000's radio-play in a way similar to what Damon's previous band Blur had done a decade earlier in the wake of 'Parklife'. The sounds are much different here through. The hooks are infectious, drum beats are simple, heavy and driving. The hip-hop aesthetic bleeds into indie alt rock and sets up a production style that is imitated to this day - by everyone from Finneas and Billie Eilish to Noga Erez.
